You know how we focus a lot on healthy eating, mindfulness, and social entrepreneurism on this site so you feel inspired and supported to live more sustainably and create a life you love?
It’s also because these topics are of dire importance: many people are experiencing degenerative health issues because they are toxic – the root cause of most illnesses – and are sorely uneducated about their bodies, true soul nature, and the effects of their actions (like how living unsustainably contributes to economic imbalance)…
But this post isn’t to go too deep into all that, instead it’s to share a recently released documentary called “Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret”. Here’s the description:
COWSPIRACY: The Sustainability Secret, is a groundbreaking feature length environmental documentary, following an intrepid filmmaker as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet today and investigates why the world’s leading environmental organizations are too afraid to talk about it.
This shocking yet humorous documentary is as eye-opening as “Blackfish” and as inspiring as “An Inconvenient Truth”.
It covers the lesser-known and rarely talked about ‘evil’ of the large-scale agricultural companies with plenty of relevant facts, interviews, real-life meetings, and statistics to rub in the concern that ignorance on this issue is – and will continue to cause – devastation to the Earth, its resources, and its inhabitants.
I grew up in South Dakota, a location heavily dependent on its agricultural system (and even was an FFA chapter officer!). Information like this just isn’t readily shared – but it needs to be common knowledge for age-old stigmas (like to believe in this makes you a ‘hippy’) to dissolve.
Knowing that your choices affect your health, your planet, and those around you isn’t hippy drudgery, it’s intelligence – a trait more people need to call upon and let dictate more decisions in their life.

And some cool facts from the doc:
By choosing to consume a predominantly vegan diet, one saves the following EVERY SINGLE DAY:
1,100 gallons of water
45 lbs of grain
30 square feet of forest
20 lbs of CO2
1 Animal’s Life
And did you know…? Someone who consumes a predominantly vegan diet needs only 1/6 of an acre to subsist for year, while a vegetarian (ovo-lacto = eggs, fish, & dairy) requires 3 x that amount. And one who eats the standard American diet requires EIGHTEEN (18) x that amount.
Whew – that’s a lot of resources!
Check out the documentary guys. I know you’ll love it and feel inspired to continue living as an advocate for holistic, positive, conscious change! xo
